Photography has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I picked up my first camera at the age of nine and photographed my first food images as a teenager — long before food photography became my profession.

Today, after more than 50 years in photography, I continue to work with the same curiosity about light, texture, color and atmosphere that first drew me to the medium. My work focuses on high-end food and product imagery for advertising, packaging, editorial and branding projects.

Over the years I’ve worked across documentary photography, museum imaging, publishing and commercial advertising. These experiences shaped the way I approach detail, composition and visual storytelling today — combining technical precision with a natural and tactile visual atmosphere.

I work with Phase One medium format systems and Broncolor lighting, creating carefully crafted imagery for international brands, agencies and producers. Clients regularly ship products to my studio from different countries for photography and production.

Together with my wife Māra, I have also spent many years building a large-scale food photography portfolio for global stock libraries, producing thousands of food and product images used worldwide across publishing, advertising and digital platforms.

I believe strong food photography should do more than simply present a product. It should create presence, atmosphere and appetite — making texture, freshness and flavor almost tangible through light and composition.
